“We lost a key figure both in diplomacy and in field”
Sayyed Ammar Hakim, visiting the family of late Amir-Abdollahian in the capital Tehran, said his martyrdom happened while he was on mission, a manifestation of his path and his active role in diplomacy, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Top Iraqi cleric lauded late Amir-Abdollahian for his special attention to the issue of Palestine and promoting that in the international arena particularly during the past months of Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

Sayyed Ammar Hakim also highlighted the role of Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in bolstering the relations between Iran and the Islamic and Arab countries leading to certain advancements in the bilateral ties between the Islamic republic and the Islamic and Arab states.

He added that the condolence messages and tributes by the Arab countries show the success of the late foreign minister in boosting political relations between Tehran and the regional countries.

The visit by the senior Iraqi cleric came after the martyrdom of Iran’s President Ebrahim Raeisi and a delegation of officials, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in the Sunday helicopter crash in northwest part of the country.

Iran declared a five-day national mourning as hundreds of officials, high ranking delegates and ambassadors have paid tribute to those deceased in the incident.
