Prominent Turkish figures offer condolences over passing of Ayatollah Taskhiri

Turkey’s Mehmet Gormez, member of the general assembly at Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in a phone call to Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, secretary general of the major Islamic body expressing sympathy over the recent demise of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri.

Turkish figure in his call expressed deepest condolences on demise of the advisor of Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Alo Akram Kalash, president of the Supreme Council for Religious Affairs have made a separate phone call to the secretary general of the world forum and expressed regret over loss of a pioneer of Islamic unity.
 
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, aged 76, passed away due to heart disease following five decades of contribution to solidarity among Muslims.
 
Among his main concerns were confrontation with religious extremism and sectarianism, boosting solidarity among Muslims and issue of Palestine.
 
Ayatollah Taskhiri had served as the secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for nearly a decade.
