Ex-premier hails Ayatollah Taskhiri struggles against extremism

Iraq’s founder of National Reform Trend, Ibrahim al-Jafari has hailed recently demised Iranian cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri for years of confrontation with extremism.

Ibrahim al-Jafari, former Iraqi prime minister has released a condolence message over passing of senior Shia cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs on Wednesday highlighting the late cleric for a life of struggle against extremism, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Founder of Iraq’s National Reform Trend noted,” One of most prominent endeavors of the scholar was the path of Islamic proximity and promotion of tolerance among Muslims.”
 
He also praised the late cleric for efforts to confront repercussions of religious extremism and desecration of Islamic unity.
 
Former top official also highlighted Ayatollah Taskhiri as a role model of ethics and modesty.
 
Leader of National Reform Trend offered deepest condolences with the family and followers of the late scholar.
 
Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri passed away due to heart disease on Tuesday. His body was laid to rest in the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) in the Iranian city of Qom.
 
The advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs and member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts was widely known for his struggles against extremism and boosting unity among Islamic denominations.
