“We should set promotion of Islamic values on agenda”
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said once the governments sit for negotiations, have more interaction rather than confrontation, then peace will prevail and new Islamic civilization will establish.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari in a meeting of the participants to 36th International Islamic Unity Conference with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir-Abdollahian held on Friday night related on over three decades of activities by the Islamic unity center and the successful 36th round of the event just held, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He referred to the recent speech by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei delivered on the occasion of the Islamic Unity Week and said,” This was the first time the Leader allocated his speech totally to Islamic unity which proves importance of the issue in view of Ayatollah Khamenei and the great responsibility upon all of us.”
The cleric noted that the major part of activities by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought is focused on religious scholars and using the modern technology to involve greater number of intellectuals in the annual Islamic Unity Conference.
According to the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought 14 webinars were held for the virtual section of the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference with more than 150 lectures broadcasted in three languages.
He referred to expansion of relations with academicians and university professors from across the world of Islam and appointing the Sunni professor, Dr Sarli, as the advisor of the secretary general in academic affairs in order to bring a new arena of academic-oriented diplomacy into focus.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari referred to remarks by the Supreme Leader warning of hostile plots to disintegrate the Islamic countries, promotion of liberal values, changing the true Islam into western-style which provides the grounds for audacity and also weakening the pillars of family life and Islamic values.
Top cleric made the comments in speech at Iran’s Foreign Ministry on Friday night following the end of 36th International Islamic Unity Conference.
