According to reports, Yemeni troops gained full control of one of the bases following heavy clashes with Saudi forces early on Sunday.

Several other missile attacks were launched against different bases in the region.

Earlier in the day, Yemeni soldiers fired several missiles at bases in Dhahran Aljanoub, south of the Asir region, reportedly killing at least three Saudi troops and injuring eight others.

Meanwhile, Saudi warplanes carried out several raids in the Yemeni central Marib province as well as the northwestern province of Sa'ada.

Earlier, eight Yemeni civilians were killed and 20 more injured after Saudi jets attacked a residential area in the southwestern Lahij province.

Four people were also killed as Saudi warplanes bombed the southwestern Aden province.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia began its military aggression against Yemen – without a UN mandate – in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to Hadi, an ally of Riyadh.

According to the latest figures by the United Nations, the conflict in Yemen has killed nearly 4,000 people, almost half of them civilians, since late March.
