It reiterated the need to preserve the legal and historical status of the Islamic and Christian holy places in the occupied city of Al-Quds, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with its entire capacity, as a place of worship purely for Muslims only.

Still another part of the statement read,” The OIC also affirms that the city of Al-Quds, the capital of the State of Palestine, an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967 and rejects any measures or decisions aimed at changing its geographical or demographic character.

The OIC called on the international community to put an end to the Israeli colonial occupation and assist the Palestinians to regain their legitimate rights, including their right to return and establishment of their independent state withing the 1967 borders with East al-Quds as its capital.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation hailed the Palestinian nation over their steadfastness in defending the sanctities and stressed its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian nation.
