Tehran responds to US statement on disruption of internet for Iranian women

The international deputy of Iran’s Judiciary and High Council for Human Rights, condemned a “meddlesome” statement by the US and some western states and also the “insolent and hypocritical” rhetoric of the message which accused Iran of violating the rights of women in having free access to online platforms, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Iranian rights body denounced the US and eight countries for misusing the women’s rights merely as a means for pursuit of their political interests and imposing their false approach on women’s rights to other nations not hesitating to victimize women, girls and all their rights in this path.

It referred to the several surveys by western research centers which report the violation of women’s rights in western countries, particularly the US to be much worse in comparison with other parts of the world.

Iranian rights body enumerated the catastrophic decadence of honor, identity and personality of women, turning them into a means for exploitation, high rate of violence against women, vast and clear discrimination against women and girls, high population of women prisoners, forced separation of immigrant mothers from their children, discrimination, torture and oppression against the black and colored women as only some of the misbehaviors against women in the western countries.

“Western states, if truly concerned for the rights of women and girls, would better think of new ways to maintain the rights of women and girls in their own countries rather than pretense defense for the rights of women in other parts of the world” read another part of the message by Iranian rights body.

It also added,” The US and other western countries have proved their ignorance of women’s rights by all out support for terror of thousands of Iranian men, women and children by terrorist groups, support for the killing of women and children by former dictator Saddam Hussein, imposing illegal sanctions with irreparable effects on life, health and welfare of the vulnerable people including women and children, several media boycotts preventing participation of Iranian women in scientific and sports fields” and reiterated,” Women’s rights is the only thing which is no concern for them.”
“Iran’s High Council for Human Rights stressed, “The political approach of the western countries on human and women’s rights is doomed to failure.”
