Jeremy Corbyn in his Tweet, addressing Muslims on beginning of the fasting month of Ramadan, expressed hope for creation of peace and justice across the globe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He visited Finsbury Park Mosque in London on Friday night and shared the photos of this visit on his Facebook account.

Leader of the Labor Party hailed Ramadan as a time of peace, reflection and contemplation.

He wrote," Ramadan is a time of peace, reflection, hope and inspiration. The Mosque continues to spread the message that together we can all create a world of peace and justice."

Corbyn also highlighted the role of British Muslims in boosting the solidarity in different societies and appreciated their efforts in fight against COVID-19.

Back in 2020, he had posted a Tweet expressing regret that Muslims could not get together due to the pandemic infection.

The visit and Tweet by the British politician came on the first day of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar and a month of prayer, Qur'an recitation and contemplation for Muslims.

Muslims abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk during Ramadan. Family Iftar meals and helping the needy are among the best tradition during the time.
