Huj. Shahriari visits Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought visited the Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies in part of his trip to Pakistan.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari accompanied by Mohsen Meschi, deputy of Iran affairs, Mowlavi Nazir Ahmad Salami, member of the supreme council at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and also Ehsan Khazaee, Iran's cultural attaché in Pakistan visited the different parts of Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The Iranian delegation visited the different parts of the research center and the manuscripts at the cultural center.
 
Under MoU signed between the neighboring countries, Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Studies has officially begun work in October 1971.
 
The cultural center had firstly been active as a library of manuscripts before the first draft of an agreement was written in 1969.
 
Iranian manuscript scholar Ahmad Monzavi began work at the center back in 1978 and spent years to bring great changes in the catalogues and publications there.
 
At present the center includes over 17,330 manuscripts in three sections and 9,000rare lithography books.
 
The Persian literature section at this center includes more than 20,000 books and references in Persian and Danesh periodical has been active for the past 26 years publishing 102 editions.
 
Iran-Pakistan Institute of Persian Language has also hosted cultural and literary meetings and grants scholarships to university students of Persian language and literature.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari visited the cultural center in the capital Islamabad on the second day of his visit to Pakistan.
