Washington’s destructive role in Iraq’s electricity crisis

Spokesman of al-Nujaba explained the different aspects of the dimensions of sabotage by the Americans in Iraq, which has led to the escalation of the electricity crisis in this country.
Washington’s destructive role in Iraq’s electricity crisis
Nasr al-Shammari, spokesman of the al-Nujaba Islamic resistance movement, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) stressed the continuation of anti-occupation operations by the Iraqi fighters and detailed the evident and hidden motives of the American government in preventing the settlement the electricity crisis in Iraq.

Al-Shammari pointed out Washington’s stonewalling of the settlement of Baghdad’s debts to Tehran and attributed it to the United States’ efforts to maintain its dominance over Iraq.

Appreciating the mujahidin (warriors) who have kept the occupying enemy under attack, he emphasized that the United States is in its weakest period.

He condemned the United States as the only movement behind the curtain of the electricity crisis in Iraq and said, “The United States has intensified the crisis since 1991 by bombing most of the power plants in Iraq and preventing Baghdad signing contracts with experienced companies.

He noted,” Washington continues to prevent signing of contracts between Baghdad and leading German and Chinese companies” and added,” Once Iraq signs an electricity production contract with these companies regardless of American sanctions
– such as the contract with the German company Siemens – the US administration government will impose pressure these companies to stop activities in Iraq.”

According to Al-Nujaba spokesman, the US imposes bankrupt American companies on all sections of Iraq’s industry and monopolizes the service delivery in the country. He said,” These companies build a special type of power plant in Iraq, whose fuel is not available in our country and must be supplied through imports. That allows the United States to cut off fuel to Iraq’s power plants whenever it wants.”

“The Iraqi government owes billions of dollars to Iran, repayment of which has been delayed for years” he said and added,” The United States prevents payment of the debt under the pretext of sanctions because it seeks to maintain its political and economic dominance over Iraq. Meanwhile any administration that tries free from this dominance is doomed to be overthrown by the US, as it did with the administration of Adil Abdul-Mahdi.”

The American government has already gone further and interferes in the cultural and social affairs of the Iraqi Muslim nation. Their senile ambassador is trying to maintain the malign role in Iraq while ignorantly forgetting that the United States is at its weakest condition and its dominance on the world is over.

That is while by trusting in God and standing by the mujahidin (warriors) who have kept the enemy under attack, we are fully confident that God’s assistance will include us and an end to presence of the arrogant American occupiers in the region will also be an end to the crises created by them.
