Iran’s Islamic unity center to mark nurses contributing amid Iraq war, COVID era

Deputy at Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought said ceremony to mark the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (AS) dubbed as National Nurses’ Day will be held in Golestan Province on Thursday.

Mohsen Meschi, Deputy of Iran affairs at WFPIST, in an interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) said the conference on “Angels’ of Blessing” will be held in Turkmen Sahra, Golestan Province on Thursday to pay tribute to nurses and “defenders of health” on Thursday.
 
More than 400 people and activists contributing for resolving health issues particularly those active during the Iraq war and COVID-19 era in Golestan province will participate in this ceremony.
 
Mohsen Meschi added that the services provided by these nurses were not confined to their religious community rather all Islamic denominations were admitted due to their support for proximity in the society.
 
He said four speakers will deliver speech in this meeting including the Shia and Sunni prayer leaders of Turkmen Sahra and a number of charity donors.
 
20 nurses, mainly from Sunni community, and also families of two nurses who lost their lives during COVID-19 pandemic will be praised in this ceremony.
 
The ceremony will be held in the wake of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (AS), also known as Nurses’ Day in Iran.
 
Hazrat Zeinab (AS) was sister of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam who nursed the survivors of the Battle of Karbala (680 AD) after martyrdom of his brothers.
