Iranian Islamic unity center holds webinar on National Nurses Day
Iran deputy at major Islamic unity center has held the online meeting of 14 proximity activists in the field of medicine and nursing concurrent with the birth anniversary of Hazrat Zeinab (AS) dubbed as Nurses Day in Iran, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The day is particularly important due to the significance of the healthcare workers and medical teams during the past year of fight against the new coronavirus.

Participants in this webinar stressed the role of nurses as an assistant and healer whose role should be highlighted due to the pandemic infection which has plagued the world since last year.

They stressed nurses should have enough knowledge on:  themselves, their environment, concept of health and concept of nursing since their command of the four topics will help them cover their duties perfectly.

In modern nursing the physiologic aspect of a person should not be merely maintained since the spiritual aspect is of greater importance; therefore, the relation between a nurse and a patient is a healing relation based on sincerity, respect and modesty and brings hope, security and tranquility in a patient.

Hazrat Zeinab (AS) sister and companion of Imam Hussein (AS) made the first example in nursing the patients and minors during the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD; hence, the birth anniversary of the prominent lady in Shia history is marked as National Nurses Day in Iran.
