“Some think that the intrigues and schism between Shias and Sunnis are results of the ambiance created by politicians” said the cleric and added,” Politicians are likely to fuel the fire of disagreements; therefore, if they define some common ideological or political interests, then many intrigues will be foiled and divisions will be resolved.”
Iranian university professor also highlighted the role of Muslim scholars and warned of divisive or Takfiri fatwas (religious statements) to be issued by extremist scholars which will bring chaos to the world of Islam and distance Muslims from each other.
He noted,” Proximity should be first created among religious leaders in the world of Islam before promoted amongst the people.”
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mahdi Farmaian stated that appropriate familiarization with other Islamic denominations will prevent creation of grounds for extremism, Takfir and division in the world of Islam.

He also referred to interaction of the ordinary people and said,” If politicians, religious leaders and elites do not build division or disagreement then the ordinary people will not follow division in accordance.”
