Hamas resistance fighters kill 14 Israeli troops in southern Gaza Strip

The fatalities were caused in a series of ambushes by Hamas' military wing, al-Qassam Brigades, in the city of Khan Younis on Saturday, Resistance News Network, a telegram channel, reported.

The most elaborate of the attacks took place against the forces in the city's al-Zana neighborhood, where nine of the fatalities were caused.

It saw the Palestinian fighters targeting three Merkava tanks directly, and then ambushing the force that came to rescue those, who had been wounded in the first attack, with three explosives.

"The rescue forces were targeted again hours later, as well as those who fled to a nearby house," the channel said.

"After entering Khan Younis 120 days ago, the IOF (Israeli Occupation Forces) has utterly failed to achieve any of its goals, continuing to fall into elaborate ambushes, and unable to recover a single prisoner alive. The resistance, however, lies in wait for its next prey," it reported.

The Israeli regime launched the war on October 7 last year in response to al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise retaliatory operation by Gaza's resistance movements, during which hundreds were taken captive.

The Tel Aviv regime has so far killed around 33,200 Palestinians, most of them women, children, and adolescents, and injured more than 75,800 others.

On Friday, the Israeli military admitted that 600 of its forces had been killed since the onset of al-Aqsa Storm.

Reporting the casualties, Daniel Hagari, the Israeli military spokesman, said 3,193 forces had also been injured since then, of whom 268 are still under treatment and the condition of 26 is critical.
