Sweden warns of critical security situation following Qur’an burning

Swedish prime minister has warned that following the Qur’an desecration in Stockholm, the country is in a worse security situation than the WWII era.

In an analysis of the situation, Ulf Kristersson, meeting with his Danish counterpart, Mette Frederiksen, described the security in the country in a worse situation than the Second World War, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He defined the situation as critical vowing that the necessary measures will be taken as some countries might misuse the critical conditions following the Qur’an burning.
 
The cases of desecrating the holy books in Sweden has pushed Turkey to stand against accession of Sweden to the NATO military alliance. The recent incidents of Qur’an burning in Denmark stand for diplomatic crisis between the Islamic countries and the two Nordic countries.
 
Although Sweden and Denmark endeavor to distance from the issue, both countries are supporters of freedom of expression.
 
Swedish police has reportedly endeavored to prevent Qur’an burning ceremony, the court has issued permission for the ceremony to be held unless it leads to immediate security issues.
