Ayatollah Alireza A’rafi in a meeting with Patriarch Mar Awa Royel, leader of the catholicos-patriarch of the Assyrian church of the east highlighted the constructive role of religions in settling the present issues in the world, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He called for organized measures in face of oppression in the world equations and said,” Seminaries, maintaining their religious identity, highlight importance of common understanding and joint interfaith actions in a bid to face the world issues.”
 
Top Iranian cleric noted the Islamic Revolution standing against both Takfiri movements and Israeli regime oppressions.
 
He stressed the support of Shia Muslims for their Sunni brothers and also the Palestinian nation in the battle against Israeli regime.
 
Ayatollah A’rafi expressed hope that the meeting will remain a landmark in deepening the relations between seminaries and Assyrian church.
