Condemnations pour in following the Qur’an burning by Rasmus Paludan and the hashtag denouncing the insult is trending on social media in Egypt and a number of other Arab and Islamic countries.
Several key figures have censured the heinous desecration of holy Qur’an and a number of people have called for boycott of Swedish products.
Under the tight security measures by Swedish police, Rasmus Paludan burnt a copy of the holy book of Islam in Stockholm on Saturday.
This is while the explanation by Swedish government has not persuaded the Muslim nations who called the remarks by Swedish diplomats as lie and a support for both perpetrators and Muslims.
Swedish government has seemingly offered sympathy with Muslims and called the measure by Paludan under the pretext of freedom of expression.
Activists have called the campaign for boycott of Swedish products as they did announcing ban on French and Indian products following desecration of Islam and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) stressing that the campaigns will leave undeniable impact of the economy in these countries.
