Senior Iranian jurist has condemned the recent desecration of Qur’an by Swedish far-right activist stressing that the western claims on freedom of expression, like human rights claims, is nothing but sheer lie.

Ayatollah Hossein Noori Hamedani, in his remarks at the beginning of his class held at Jame Mosque of Qom on Monday denounced Qur’an burning by far-right activist Rasmus Paludan in Sweden, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The cleric noted,” The burning is a clear reason that they are incapable of deduction and reasoning” and added,” The heinous measure illustrates that all claims on freedom of expression, like human rights claims, is nothing but sheer lie and a pretext to justify their crimes.
 
Rasmus Paludan, leader of the far-right Hardline party in Denmark burnt a copy of the holy book of Islam near Turkish embassy in Stockholm amid tight security measures by the police.
 
The incident has drawn much condemnation from Muslims across the globe and several protests have called on the Swedish government to stand responsible for the repercussions of the incident they officially permitted to be held.
 
Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Kuwait, Pakistan, Jordan and Iran are some of the countries that denounced Qur’an burning and Swedish government reiterating that the police should have prevented the desecration of holy book of Islam.
