IAEA’s coming to Tehran while some seeking to distort Iran-IAEA ties: Spokesman

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nasser Kanaani has said that Iran continues its constructive efforts in relation to the International Atomic Energy Agency in order to resolve safeguards-related questions and uncertainties, and in this context, talks with the agency have been held and are continuing.

He noted: “During the last week, the Minister of Foreign Affairs had an online conversation with the ambassadors and consuls of the Islamic Republic in European countries and we had a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary General of the ECO.”
 
The spokesman in response to a question about whether the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided the documents of the people’s roles from other countries, said: “The behavior and speech of the countries must have been monitored and the reaction of the diplomatic apparatus of the Islamic Republic of Iran and in this connection has worked.”
 Kanaani stated: In connection with the interventions that have caused damage in the Republic of Iran, and the performance of those countries whose citizens have committed crimes or have played a role in some way in connection with the riots and were arrested, necessary judicial action has been taken against these citizens and is ongoing, and the diplomatic system has taken the necessary action in accordance with its inherent duties in contacts and dialogues with these countries.”
 
He noted that the missions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the ambassadors and the heads of our diplomatic missions in other countries have transferred cases in the framework of diplomatic meetings.
The spokesman stated: The diplomatic apparatus in Tehran carried out the same responsibility in relation to the embassies of the resident countries and countries that had such disruptive and illegal actions. The ambassadors of a number of these countries were summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the summonses that took place, the evidence and in some cases the necessary documents were presented to the ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions, and in this connection, both objections and requests were followed up, and the representatives have been asked to get and receive the answer from their centers in this regard.”
 
Regarding the visit of a delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency to Iran, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “The direct and indirect communication between the Islamic Republic of Iran and especially the Atomic Energy Organization of our country continues with the officials of the International Atomic Energy Agency. I confirm that a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran traveled to Vienna last week and had a discussion and exchange of views with the officials of the organization.”
