Leader warns of efforts to shake religious beliefs in people, soft warfare
Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution met with Friday prayer leaders from across Iran on Wednesday morning and warned against enemies seeding doubt among people saying that the present battleground is a field for soft warfare.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in his meeting with Shia and Sunni Friday prayer leaders from across the country highlighted the key role of weekly prayer for “remembrance of God Almighty” and “participation of public people and called Friday prayer “a ritual further exceptional than Hajj”, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Supreme Leader related on importance of Friday prayer unique among all Islamic rituals and said,” The relation between attentiveness to God Almighty and participation of the community, communal recalling of the Almighty and its blessings, continuity of Friday prayer, important gathering to discuss the different issues, intertwining of state and spirituality are among the key features that have turned Friday prayer into a great capacity for Muslims.
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated the lifestyle and manners of the Friday prayer leaders calling on them to make utmost effort to achieve piety and practice good deeds.
The Leader also highlighted the content provided at the weekly prayer which should be rich, intimate, unifying and peaceful.
Ayatollah Khamenei called it a key mission for Friday sermons to foil efforts by ill-wishers who seed doubt among people and said,” The present battleground is a field for soft warfare as the enemies spread doubt in order to infiltrate in the religious faith of the people since it has been the factor behind victory of Islamic Revolution and perseverance of the people during the sacred defense in Iran.”
Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic noted that a great achievement of Islamic Republic has been foiling the strategy of western civilization which is separation of state and religion and added,” Islamic Republic of Iran, following the motto of religion, not only protected itself but also challenged the long struggles by the west to show controversy of religion and state.”
The Leader said the mafia of western powers led by Zionists and capitalists, showcased in the United States, are constantly wrathful and plotting to inflict blows against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in his meeting with the Friday prayer leaders from across Iran held ahead of the mourning month of Muharram.
