Iran says British move for compulsory deportation of asylum seekers evasion of international obligations

The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, has called the move, the legal implications of which are unclear, as the response to the evil smugglers who have turned the sea into a graveyard for migrants.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "Saeed Khatibzadeh" said on Friday: "Forcing asylum seekers living in Britain to Rwanda is contrary to the spirit and text of the 1951 Refugee Convention."
The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: "The British government's plan to place its responsibility for asylum seekers on a third country exposes refugees to violations of the rights set out in the asylum conventions and human rights treaties, and it completely ignores human and moral considerations."
Khatibzadeh rejected the commodification of asylum seekers, violence and degrading treatment that is contrary to human dignity, and referred to the hosting of millions of refugees by the Islamic Republic of Iran, noting: "The British government's plan to deport asylum seekers while the country and other Western countries always ignore the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in managing and taking care of millions of immigrants and refugees."
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran emphasized: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has hosted millions of refugees, especially from the neighboring country, Afghanistan, by observing humanitarian considerations and receiving minimal foreign aid, and has been repeatedly praised and recognized by international organizations related to refugee affairs."
