Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr leading in Iraq election early results

The political party of Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr is reportedly leading as it is sweeping the votes according to the early results in Iraq election.

The early results collected from a number of Iraqi provinces and the capital Baghdad showed that Muqtada al-Sadr party, also known as Sadrist Movement, is leading with over 70 seats from the total number of 329.
 
Local news outlets and a spokesperson for Sadr's office said that the number was 73 seats.
 
Top Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, promised in a televised speech on state television, that he will form a nationalist government free of foreign interference saying," We welcome all embassies that do not interfere in Iraq's internal affairs.
 
A dominant figure in Iraqi politics, the Shia scholar has become first in the 2018 election with his coalition, Sairoon, winning 54 seats.
