Taliban mocks US editing photo of American troops at WWII
The Taliban have mocked the United States by "recreating" an iconic image of US troops at World War II raising the flag on the island of Iwo Jima.

The Taliban has also released a series of footage showing its forces donning US-made tactical gear left behind by American forces pulling out of the country in late February.

Another series of footages show the insurgents inspecting long lines of vehicles, firearms, military drones and communication gears.

Sebastian Gorka, a former official in the Donald Trump administration, “No Enemy has EVER done this to America, befouled Iwo Jima’s eternal sacrifice, whilst wearing our equipment until Biden. He has betrayed all Americans, alive and dead.”

The original Iwo Jima photograph was clicked by Joe Rosenthal of the Associated Press on February 23, 1945. It shows six United States Marines raising the US flag atop Mount Suribachi during the Battle of Iwo Jima in the final stages of the Pacific War.
