Science, knowledge, Imam Reza's tools to dominate hearts

Senior Iraqi cleric, Hujjat-ul-Islam al-Jabouri, hailed the eighth Shia Imam as a key founder of Islamic civilization and counted science and knowledge as the means for Imam Reza (AS) to dominate hearts.

Australia-based Iraqi cleric, al-Jabouri, referred to the high character and efforts of Imam Reza (AS) to promote Islam on the birth anniversary of the eighth Shia Imam and also his role in boosting Islamic proximity among Muslims from different denominations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He referred to appearance of different Islamic denominations during the Abbasid era and highlighted the key role of eighth Shia Imam in countering the deviate thoughts targeting Islam.
 
The cleric noted resistance of the eighth Shia Imam in foiling intrigues by rulers who sought division among Muslims.
 
Al-Jabouri enumerated the role of Imam Reza in protecting Islamic identity against atheism and fake ideologies, protecting guidelines by Qur'an and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) against distortion and also resistance against divisive intrigues.
 
He said giving recommendations, talks and guiding the people was the strategy by Imam Reza in interaction with followers of other religions.
 
Top Iraqi scholar referred to the several debates between Imam Reza (AS) and then followers of other religions who later confessed the supremacy of the eighth Shia Imam in knowledge and reasoning.
 
According to the Shia cleric Imam Reza (AS) opted did not opted for scientific debates and negotiations rather than sword when it came to settling tensions at his time.
 
"Imam Reza (AS) won the battles of his time by dominating hearts with science and knowledge rather than using his sword" he said.
 
Al-jabouri made the comments in an interview with IQNA News Agency conducted on June 21, the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS).
