Russian Orthodox Church leader hails late Ayatollah Taskhiri over interfaith activities

Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia has released a condolence message to Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) to offer sympathy over passing of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri and hailed the late scholar among founders of interfaith dialogue between Islam and Christianity.

Bishop of Moscow in his message addressed to Hujjat-ul-Islam Taskhiri, expressed deep regrets over demist of the advisor of Supreme Leader and leading religious proximity figure hailing his "active role" and "commitment" to his mission to promote proximity among denominations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said," Sincere efforts by contemporary Muslim activist, Ayatollah Taskhiri, to boost interfaith dialogue has led to high esteem of great religious leaders across the globe."
 
Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia expressed special esteem of the Russian church for former secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought over the struggles of the late scholar for launching and expanding interfaith dialogue commissions in collaboration with Orthodox Church of Moscow two decades ago.
 
He offered his condolences with the Iranian nation over passing of Ayatollah Taskhiri, the advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs and prominent proximity figure. The scholar passed away on Tuesday and his body was laid to rest in the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS), in Qom.
