Hujjat-ul-Islam Abdullah al-Daqqaq, prominent Bahraini cleric, referred to active role of Iraqi nation in welcoming Arba’een pilgrims ahead of the major Shia ceremony stressing that intrigues hatched by arrogant powers cannot undermine the solidarity among Muslims and commemoration of Imam Hussein (AS) martyrdom, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He praised the cooperation among followers of different religions and Islamic denominations calling the interfaith fraternity built during Arba’een ceremony as a result of loyalty for the third Shia Imam.

As the major Shia commemoration attracts non-Muslims for pilgrimage to the holy city of Karbala and paying tribute to the third Shia Imam, manager of school for Bahraini scholars residing in Iran’s holy city of Qom lauded Imam Hussein (AS) the leader for unity among all religions and denominations.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Daqqaq referred to endeavors by arrogant powers in dividing Muslims during Arba’een and slammed the United States for hatching plots to disperse Iranian and Iraqi Muslim nations.

Over a month prior to Arba’een ceremony, Iraqi volunteers mobilized to serve Iranian pilgrims to different holy cities in Iraq in a bid to prove that hostile efforts cannot breach the solidarity among Muslims or their determination for Arba’een pilgrimage.

Ceremonies for Arba’een, 40th day after martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), is underway across Iraqi cities as millions of pilgrims are marching the way to Karbala.

Back in 680 AD, Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) rose against the tyrant ruler of his time and fought Yazid ibn Muawiyah in the Battle of Karbala to be martyred alongside 72 of his household and loyal companions.

His martyrdom is one of the most important landmarks in the Shia history.
