“Three Books, Two Cities, One Tale” unveiled in Iran

Professor Anton Wessels author of the book titled “The Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: Three Books, Two Cities, One Tale” attended the ceremony to unveil his book in the Iranian capital of Tehran to highlight the mission of holy books in expanding interfaith dialogue across the globe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The author stressed,” Not only the holy books are exempt from reasons for outbreak of war but also settle part of the conflicts in the world.”

He said,” We are living in an era when the west takes those with no religion are the winners” and added,” While a lot of people believe global issues stem from religion and holy books should be totally banned I stress that holy scriptures are not a source of problems rather a solution for many predicaments.”

The author noted that the three holy books of Islam, Christianity and Judaism should be a basis of study for many people and a study of the trio will teach many lessons.

He referred to a speech by the then US President when the 2015 Paris terrorist attack claiming that we live in the end time similar to some Christian beliefs in the US and those by the so-called Islamic state, Daesh.

The Dutch author expressed hope that studying his book will bring an insight to recognize one’s state in the world order and that this study will help the people rather than array them against each other.

Ceremony to introduce the book “The Torah, the Gospel, and the Qur’an: Three Books, Two Cities, One tail” was hailed as a joint effort by Center for Qur’an Studies, Iranian association of Islamic culture and Qur’an studies and association of translation and foreign languages.
