The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, following the statements of Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized that Baku stands with the brotherly Iranian nation.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sent a message to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulating him and the people of Azerbaijan on the country’s National Day.

"Mojtaba Demirchilu," the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baku, met with "Ramin Mammadov," the Chairman of the State Committee for Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

Iran, Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry top officials discussed the embassy shooting incident in Tehran calling for speedy completion of the case.

In a phone call on Saturday evening between Ebrahim Raisi and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the condolences of the Iranian government and people for the accident at the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran was expressed.

Attending a joint press conference after meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Jeyhun Bayramov stated: "Bilateral talks were held and according to the political will of the two countries, we had a 30% increase in the volume of relations, but the existing capacities are more."

The document was signed by Rahman Hummatov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Kheirullah Khademi, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, in Baku on Tuesday.
