“Iraq’s post-Baath issues were US plots to divide Muslims”, cleric

The representative of the Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in the holy city of Najaf stressed that the crimes committed after topple of the former dictator Baath regime in Iraq were all political plots rather than religious issues conducted by the United States.

Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini, in a meeting with Dr Hamid Shahriari, the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought condemned the United States for the massive funds allocated to crimes against Shia and Sunni communities in a bid to divide Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He warned against the United States as a factor behind intrigues and corruption.
 
The senior scholar referred to the ongoing Israeli war against the Gaza Strip and said,” The oppression of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip defamed the US, UK and Israeli regime across the globe and those who supported the genocidal war will fail in their propaganda to fight against humanity.”
 
Ayatollah Hosseini hailed Iran’s retaliatory operation True Promise which came in response to the regime’s terrorist attack on Iranian consular section in Damascus and said,” The operation brought honor for the Islamic resistance and boosted solidarity.”
 
The representative of the Leader in Najaf received the delegation of Shia and Sunni scholars from World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought after the second International Islamic Unity Conference held in Baghdad on Wednesday.
 
Iraq’s al-Rebat al-Mohammadi Scholars’ Society organized the conference entitled “Al-Aqsa Flood, Issues and Identity” in the Iraqi capital, attended by a number of Shia and Sunni scholars from Iran, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Afghanistan, Syria and Lebanon among other countries.
