No interim agreement to replace JCPOA: Iran

"No interim agreement to replace the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is on the agenda," the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations stated in a statement on Thursday.
No interim agreement to replace JCPOA: Iran

"Iran and the United States are nearing a temporary deal that would swap some sanctions relief for reducing Iranian uranium enrichment activities," Middle East Eye quoted two sources that it claims have direct knowledge of the talks as saying.
"According to an Iranian official and a person close to negotiations, the talks have taken place directly on US soil, marking a notable development in the diplomatic process," Middle East Eye reported.
Middle East Eye added that it had asked Robert Malley, the US special envoy on Iran, without a response. Later, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council told Reuters: "Any reports of an interim deal are false." The Iranian mission to the UN then said: "Our comment is the same as the White House comment."
"There is no temporary agreement to replace the JCPOA and the issue is not on the agenda," the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations stressed.
Iran has always announced that there is no alternative to the JCPOA.
Iran's international nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed between the country and the P5+1 group, including Russia, China, the UK, France, the US, and Germany in 2015, but the US withdrew from the agreement on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.
Experience has shown that despite the claims of diplomacy, the White House does not have the necessary will to make a decision to return to the JCPOA and compensate for the failed policy of the former US President Donald Trump's administration against Iran.
As a responsible country, Iran has always declared that it is ready to conclude a stable and reliable agreement that will contribute to the removal of the sanctions in a guaranteed way and will not remain as a pressure lever to be used against Iran in the future.
