Shia cleric hails Sunni scholar over endeavors to boost Islamic unity
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought lauded the top Sunni cleric over endeavors to promote solidarity among Islamic denominations.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, in part of his visit to Iran's western province of Kurdistan met with Mamusta Rostam Faeqi, representative of the Kurdistan province in the Assembly of Experts, paying tribute to the senior Sunni scholar for his contributions to promotion of Islamic proximity and boosting unity among Muslims in the province populated by followers of different Islamic denominations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He hailed the endeavors of religious figures and clerics for strengthening the fraternity among people in Kurdistan.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari added," Clerics in Kurdistan promoted the revolutionary values during the four decades since the Islamic Revolution."
He noted that an important objective for his visit to Iran's western province was to expressing respect for the honorable people in Kurdistan and the Sunni scholars who stood by the high objectives of Islamic Revolution.
Prayer leader of the Sunni community in Sanandaj referred to a decrease in extremist moves in Kurdistan province stressing that the achievement is owed to the endeavors by Shia and Sunni clerics in the region.
He hailed the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought as a privilege and an opportunity to boost unity in the world of Islam.
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought also met with a number of Sunni figures and prominent religious leaders in Kurdistan province during his three-day tour to the region.
