Director of Religious Affairs, Mehmet Gormez, met with Alireza Bigledi, Iranian ambassador to Turkey calling both countries to be vigilant and regional events and that they should bring about peace to new generations, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

"My heart hurt after seeing political issues turn into religious issues, which makes no sense. Both Turkey and Iran should know what's going on around the region, and should bring about peace to new generations," said Gormez.

Receiving the Iranian ambassador, Gormez said that important missions were waiting for Turkey and Iran in the Middle East.
Gormez also pointed out that ambassadors should take over representative mission among nations and governments, and added, "I would like to convey my belief to you that you would be an ambassador, who builds up the new bridges between two nations."

Ambassador Bigdeli stressed that they will make effort for pacification in the region, and also said, "I have taken advantage of your speeches and statements. I would like to sincerely convey that I will take notice of your suggestions. As Turkey and Iran, we will strain to secure uniformity and brotherhood,"
Bigdeli has invited Gormez to Iran at the end of the meeting.
