The deputy of Lebanon’s Supreme Islamic Shia Council has hailed the recent retaliatory operation against Israeli positions in the occupied lands stressing that the Operation True Promise changed the western views on the Islamic Republic.

Sheikh Ali al-Khatib made the remark at a meeting with the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought held in the Iranian capital Tehran on Tuesday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He lauded the Islamic Republic of Iran for the recent strikes against the Israeli-occupied lands and standing by the Palestinian nation despite possible threats.
 
The Lebanese cleric stressed,” Israel’s terrorist attack against Iranian embassy in Damascus was absurd and the Islamic Republic, in its recent attack on the Israeli positions, proved its support for the Palestinian nation despite some Arab nations who have
forgotten Palestinians” and added,” Iran proved it is mighty and courageous in face of the Israeli regime.”
 
The deputy of Supreme Shia Council of Lebanon noted that the recent operation by Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has changed the stance of the United States and reiterated,” Islamic Republic of Iran, in standing by Palestinian nation, proved that Shia is not an enemy but a supporter of Sunni.”
 
He said,” We must leave the sectarian views when it comes to issues across the world of Islam” calling for more interaction among all Muslims.
 
He called on the elites across the world of Islam to discuss the strategic issues, exchange views and mobilize powers in face of common enemies.
 
Sheikh Ali al-Khatib detailed the latest cultural efforts by the Supreme Shia Council including the efforts to prevent sectarian rifts in Lebanon.
