Lebanese cast their vote in first elections in nine years (Photo)

Lebanese cast their votes in the first parliamentary election in nine years, with over 500 candidates vying for 128 seats at the legislature.
The event in which more than 900 candidates compete for the 128 seats up for grabs is expected to bring changes not only in political but also in economic area.

In Lebanese parliament, the 128 seats are divided evenly - 64 for Muslims including Druze, 64 for Christians with the foresaid two halves are further split among 11 total political factions.

It is noteworthy that the political event were supposed to be held in 2013. Having said that, the failure of the Labenese Parliament in electing a new President ended up in the extendion of the term until 2017 and later 2018.
