Mourning ceremonies for the ninth of Muharram held in the holy city of Karbala, Iraq. The ceremonies commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), third Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), martyred with his 72 companions in the battle of Karbala back in 61 AH.
