Hizbullah congratulated the Palestinian people in gaining the UNESCO membership and commenting on the US decision of suspending the agency's funding in response to the Palestinian membership, Hizbullah strongly condemned the decisions of the United States, Canada and other countries that voted against the measure.

"The United States' decision proves that it actually opposes the rights of people and reflects an arrogant mentality that wishes to practice absolute hegemony over the decisions and resolutions of the UN and its various agents." Hizbullah's statement said 

Adding that the United States' new position affirms that Washington's hostility towards the Arab peoples goes beyond politics to the cultural aspect, and that "shows that the US administration is adopting a racist policy, which is not foreign to the country's history and is based on the concept of neglecting the other and trying to eliminate him".

The statemnet concluded: "the US hostile position also shows the full and sustained identification with the "Israeli" enemy that established its entity through similar policies against Arabs and Muslims, especially Palestinians who are paying the price every day from their lives and property.
They are also trying to Judaize their sanctuaries, and to erase their culture and history". 

In Tehran, spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Ramin Mehmanparast said that "the join of Palestine is a symbolic step for the global support of Palestinian rights", adding that Washington's decision to stop funding reduces its  "honor".

In return, "Israel" took a decision yesterday to accelerate the pace of settlements, and freezing the transfer of funds to the Palestinian Authority, in an initial reaction to the decision of the UNESCO to accept the State of Palestine full membership.
