First passing anniversary of Ayatollah Taskhiri to be held in Tehran

The first passing anniversary of senior Iranian cleric and the Supreme Leader’s advisor in Muslim world affairs, Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri will be held in a ceremony on Thursday.


A year after the demise of Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri, “eloquent language of Islam”, the first passing anniversary of the top Shia scholar and leading Islamic proximity figure has been scheduled to be held on Thursday in Tehran, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
 Religious figures, scholars and Islamic proximity activists have been invited to a commemoration ceremony to be held with health protocols against COVID-19.
 
Late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri passed away on August 18, 2020 due to heart problems and his body was laid to rest in the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh in Qom.
 
He was a leading figure in promoting proximity among Islamic denominations for more than five decades and popularly known for his moderate views.
 
He had served as secretary general of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, member of the Assemble of Experts and also advisor of the Supreme Leader in Muslim world affairs.
