French Interior Minister has announced a new decision which launches new Islamophobic campaign to investigate dozens of mosques.

Gerald Darmanin, French Interior Minister says his country has decided to launch new campaign to investigate 76 mosques in search of alleged "breeding grounds of terrorism", reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
French interior minister has announced a crackdown on 76 mosques that the government suspects of alleged “separatism” and encouraging extremism.

Gérald Darmanin has also announced that the mosques would be inspected and any found to be “breeding grounds of terrorism” would be shut.

The move is part of the French government’s Islamophobic campaign which has been supported by President Emmanuel Macron before.

The president has previously denied that the new legislation that new legislation to reinforce secularism that he outlined at the beginning of October was targeting Muslims though he has openly backed Islamophobic campaigns.

The new French legislation, under which France would train imams and impose a wider ban on home schooling and controls on religious associations, were aiming to tackle what he called as radical "Islamist separatism."

His supportive stance of sacrilegious cartoon reprinted by French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo under the pretext of freedom of expression has sparked global wrath of Muslims.
