A top Lebanese cleric slammed the US, Zionist regime intrigues to rift Muslim world stressing US plot for the Middle East region is to wage war between Shia and Sunni.

Sheikh Afif Nablosi, Chairman of Jabal Amel Association of Ulima (scholars), in a meeting with a group of Iraqi clerics noted that the daily bloodshed of innocent people in Iraq is due to the occupation of the US and spreading dispersion between Shia and Sunni communities, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He highlighted solidarity among Muslims and said,” Unity of Iraqi nationals is the most vital preliminary to end the blood bath and confrontation with terrorists who are puppets of the US to fade the role of Iraq in the region.”

Senior cleric also touched upon the issue of Syria and noted, “What is going on in Syria is strangely similar to Iraq incidents as if these crimes are scheduled to turn the Zionist regime of Israel to the sole decision making regime for the future of the region.”

He underscored resistance against US intrigues to be prioritized by regional countries calling that as the major condition for return of stability and security to the whole region.
