Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki visited the Chairman of Proximity Studies Center, Hojjatol Islam Mokhtari hailing the programs forwarded to date by the body, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Briefing on some activities and objectives upon the center, President of Iran top unity center placed stress on the need for inviting religious thinkers and elites to scientific meetings mounted in Islamic Republic of Iran and underscored, "The content discussed in scientific gatherings should be compiled in books so as to be offered to foreign invitees and thinkers."


Ayatollah Araki beckoned to the efficiency of holding virtual meetings and the necessity of using the capacity of virtual World for strengthening tie with religious thinkers worldwide, promoting unity and advancing the set objectives in this arena.

The grand Ayatollah also pointed to his recent excursion to Syria and three Memorandums of Understanding inked with Syrian officials stressing, "establishing the Proximity World Forum in Syria, , founding the University of Islamic denominations in Syria and forwarding task in the area of resistance and promoting rapprochement were of the agreements signed by the two parts in these meetings."


It is noteworthy that in this trip, Mohammad abdul Sattar al Sayied, Syria’s Minister of Awqaf (religious endowments) and Iran’s Ayatollah Mohsen Araki have also inked an agreement on mutual cooperation and efforts to protect human, economic and ideological resources of the Islamic nations.

According to the agreement a joint committee is launched by representatives of the two countries in a bid to realize objective of the Islamic nation on proximity and solidarity of all Islamic schools of thoughts.

Ayatollah Araki in his excursion to Syria also visited Syrian officials and religious cleric including Sheikh Badreddin Hasoun, the Grand Mufti of the country, and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem exchanging his views for boosting ties between clerics of the two countries.


Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought also visited Higher Education Center of Sheikh Kaftarou in Damascus. In the meetings, the religious clerics exchanged their lines and views over recent changes in the country, standing threats facing Syria and ways for a better tie with Muslims nations in the region.

With this connection and given his meetings with religious clerics, Ayatollah Araki placed emphesis on the prime importance of Feqhol Moqavemah (Resistance Feqh or jurisprudence) and Feqhol Taqrib (Proximity Feqh or jurisprudence) stressing the foresaid issues and areas should be discussed with Syrian clerics.
