“UN holds most of Islamic laws as violations of human rights”

Hujjat al-Islam Zonnour explained Western culture and customs are based upon the culture of humanism and secularism and there is no place for religion and religious teachers in their society.
“UN holds most of Islamic laws as violations of human rights”
Hujjat al-Islam Mojtaba Zonnour, the secretary of the Congress of Martyrs and Clerics, referred to a recent resolution by the UN Human Rights Council against the Islamic Republic of Iran and said that Iran’s main problem with he United Nations is in regards to [its hypocrisy over] human rights, reported Rasa News.

His Eminence explained that in regard to issues in Islamic law, such as the law of retaliation, blood money, the punishment of criminals and women’s issues, we have fundamental problems with the UN. “They consider most of our religious laws as violations of human rights,” he stated.

“One of the cases in the Islamic Republic of Iran which the UN considers a violation of human rights is the lack of freedom for homosexuals in Iran. They expect the Islamic Republic to recognize them,” Hujjat al-Islam Zonnour added.

Hujjat al-Islam Zonnour explained Western culture and customs are based upon the culture of humanism and secularism and there is no place for religion and religious teachers in their society, adding that: “They do not believe in the rule of the Islamic system in society and they believe that anything that religion recommends is a violation of human rights!

The political analyst emphasized that enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, veiling (hijab), retaliation, blood money are considered human rights violations by the so-called human rights advocates of the West, saying: “For the past 35 years, the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran has been at the top of the UN’s list of countries which are violators of human rights. Every year another country dominates the UN Human Rights Council. This year Canada serves as the chair of the Council.”

Referring to the many human rights violations of these hypocritical Western countries, including Canada, Hujjat al-Islam Zonnour explained that these countries use the issue of human rights as a tool to show their hostility. “The entire world knows that every kind of freedom and human rights abuses are far more widespread in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and other Arab countries than in Iran but the UN does not take a stand against them!” he emphasized.

In conclusion, Hujjat al-Islam Zonnour explained that unfortunately, in some of the country’s cultural institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, the administrators are unaware of the obscene face of the enemy and stated that “the enemy’s deceptive mask separates them from the path of truth.”
