'Qods day, indication of Muslims' power and unity'

"Al-Qods day is an indication of Muslims' power and unity in the world of Islam," stressed Friday Prayer Leader of Divandareh area.

Friday Prayer Leader of Divandareh area, Mamousta Abdol Hamid Hasani in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) demanded people to observe the International Quds Day in solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation holding the event as an indication of Muslims' power and unity in the World of Islam.

Mamousta Abdol Hamid Hasani beckoned to this very fact that International Quds Day was the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who is revered as a spiritual leader by Muslims across the world. Given that, in his line, Iranian people are much more responsible in marking this day.

The religious cleric stressed the necessity of marking the day gloriously denouncing any hatched scheme meant to distract the Muslims’ public opinion from the Palestinian cause.

"It is incumbent upon us to observe and mark the day gloriously," pointed out Friday Prayer Leader of Divandareh urging all walks of people to side with the defenseless people of Palestine against the regime of Zionism.

The Sunni cleric hailed people of Kurdistan in showing support for Palestinians in the face of Israel’s crimes and atrocities stressing, "Fortunately Piet people of Kurdistan partake in rallies held to commemorate the Palestinian people’s resistance against Israel and their struggles to liberate their territories which have been occupied by Israel for decades."

Mamousta Abdol Hamid Hasani also demanded local and foreign journalists to cover the rallies on International Quds Day. Quds Day is a far cry from a casual Islamic religious event. It is, indeed, a human rights event open to both Muslim and non-Muslims alike.

Back in 1979, shortly after leading an Islamic revolution which toppled the US-backed Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini named the last Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan as Quds Day.

The annual event is seen as an opportunity for freedom-seeking people across the world, regardless of faith, to voice their support for the cause of Palestine and vent their anger against the Apartheid regime of Israel, which has occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.

Millions of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, including Muslims and non-Muslims, take to the streets in solidarity with the Palestinian people to denounce Israel’s atrocities against the people of Palestine.
