Turkey's Erdogan in Qatar for talks with 40 deals expected to be signed

Turkey's president has arrived in Qatar to hold talks with the country's emir, as a crisis that has split Qatar from its Gulf neighbours enters its sixth month.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived in Doha on Tuesday, where he is expected to agree on series of economic agreements, Qatar's QNA news agency reported.
The Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee will sign "40 agreements covering all areas of vital cooperation between the two countries", QNA said.
The news agency said the deals cover a wide array of fields including "economic, cultural, defense, banking and cybersecurity as well as food and agricultural security".
Turkey has backed Qatar in the ongoing diplomatic spat that was triggered in June when Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain cut diplomatic and trade ties with Qatar.
The four states accuse Qatar of supporting terrorist groups - allegations Doha denies.
Erdogan held talks with Kuwait's emir earlier on Tuesday.
Erdogan and Kuwaiti ruler Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad Al-Sabah discussed "regional and international developments," the government-run KUNA news agency said.
Kuwait has led mediation efforts in the dispute, while Turkey has stepped in to support Qatar with food imports in the face of a blockade by the Arab states.
Erdogan and the Kuwaiti emir also discussed "means to improve cooperation on all fronts" between the two nations and also inked a direct investment agreement, KUNA said. The Turkish president has called for the lifting of the sanctions against Qatar.
