President Hassan Rouhani stressed here Wednesday evening that unemployment is a prime issue in the country and noted that the solution rests in provision of security by all forces.

Speaking at a session of administrative council of Zanjan Province, he said security should exist in the society for employment clarifying that he did not merely mean military and disciplinary security. 'Rather our entrepreneurs should feel secure,' he stressed.

The president further remarked that the meaning of state economy is reliance on oil money and this belongs to the time when there is no sanction and oil can be supplied to the market.

However, he added, the way for the salvation of the economy is not to sell oil resources and exchange dollar for rial.

“Sustainable employment should be developed through development and production as the mere delivery of money and facilities to the people for this purpose will only make the unemployed the debtor.”

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has criticized the country's reliance on oil and underground resources and urged authorities to take advantage of the talent and capabilities of the young generation as the driving force behind development.

Ayatollah Khamenei said, 'Rather than dependence on oil revenues, we should rely on the intelligence and talent of young people … when that happens, no power in the world could undermine the country's economy,' according to the website of the Leader's office.

Addressing a gathering of young scientists and academics in Tehran on Wednesday, the Leader stressed that the country's economic planning should be free from fluctuating oil prices, adding that a country whose economy relies too heavily on oil revenues could have 'a bleak future'.

Elsewhere, he said any pause in the country's scientific progress would be a 'backward step'.

He added despite many scientific achievements that have been made in various fields, 'Iran has not been able to reach its rightful place in terms of advances in science.'

'It is necessary to continue our scientific movement through strengthening knowledge-based companies as well as a knowledge-based economy.'

Elsewhere in his remarks, President Rouhani said during the past 14 months great jobs have been accomplished in economic, political, scientific and technological fields.

Stressing that currently there are a large number of investors and entrepreneurs in the world who are willing to partake in Iran’s activities, he said big American investors and companies are eager to make investment in Iran.

“Today there is no way in the world except for free competition. Therefore, our concern should be one and we should see this in the Majlis, in the government and in the Judiciary. We should move together and along with each other.”

He said he put much hope in the movement of the country and coordination of the three powers, adding that the reason for such hopefulness is that in sessions of provincial development entrepreneurs are also present and announce their readiness (for cooperation).
