Top Egyptian cleric from Al Azhar noted that accusations over Shia militants killing Sunni Muslims are related to the policies and role played by secretary general of the Arab League and Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Sheikh Ahmed Karima, professor of comparative Fiq’h from Al Azhar, in an interview with Ray al Youm said 95 per cent of Sunni Fiq’h is in proportion with Shia Fiq’h and the objective of US-Zionist plan in the region is to divide Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He hailed the seriousness and good will of the Iranian Shia in a new version of encyclopedia on different Islamic denominations he had received from Iran’s Dar al Hadith Publication and praised the special attention to Aisha bint Abi Bakr, wife of Prophet Mohammad and a scholarly figure in Sunni Islam, and Ahlul Bayt (AS), household of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
 
The cleric stressed necessity of interfaith dialogues to boost proximity among different denominations and announced Al Azhar professors, researchers, mystics and other Egyptian religious figures are carrying out studies in a bid to take measures for Islamic proximity under the supervision of an academic committee.
 
Prominent figure vowed to stand against Sykes-Picot Agreement (also known as Asia Minor Agreement) which aims spread of sectarianism between Arabs and divide Muslims.
 
Al Azhar professor rebuked “Salafi Wahhabi” who spread lies on alleged expansionist view of Shia and said no one is scared of dialogue unless he is weak.
