On Palestinian Children's Day, 200 Palestinian children held in Israeli detention

On the occasion of the Palestinian Children's Day, prisoner advocacy groups said today that more than 200 Palestinian children are currently incarcerated in Israeli prisons, including 23 children from the Gaza Strip detained in the Megiddo prison, where they are subjected to enforced disappearance.
On Palestinian Children
The prisoner institutions pointed out that this year has seen heightened bloodshed against Palestinian children. This comes against the backdrop of the ongoing all-out Israeli aggression and genocidal war on Gaza.
Since October 7th of last year, child prisoners have faced retaliatory measures imposed by the Israeli occupation on various categories of prisoners in all prisons. Initially, this involved isolating child prisoners from the outside world entirely, separating them from each other within the prisons, confiscating all electrical appliances and supplies from their cells, cutting off hot water, seizing their clothes, and providing minimal and extremely poor-quality meals.
Prisoner institutions further elaborated in their statement that imprisoned children have been subjected to retaliatory measures used against male and female prisoners. According to testimonies from recently released child prisoners, the occupation has isolated them from other prisoners and sections since day one. Multiple testimonies also document brutal beatings endured during their time in detention.
Statistics and documented testimonies from child prisoners indicate that the majority of detained children have been subjected to one or more forms of physical and psychological torture.
