Political-religious intrigues plaguing Muslim community?

By: Seyyed Morteza Nematzadeh
A glance at the political scene in the Muslim and Arab world, in regards to the present changes arouses concerns.
Political-religious intrigues plaguing Muslim community?
Killing and injuring of numerous people, sometimes exceeding dozens or hundreds, on a daily basis is only part of war or terrorist attacks swiping through Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Pakistan, Mali and other countries. This is while many other countries including Libya, Yemen, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Jordan and etc… are harassed with domestic chaos and tensions of the war of power.

These wars do not merely confine to religious clashes or tensions between Shia and Sunni communities rather a great part of them is intra-religion clashes which break out in a country and among the followers of one denomination. Tensions among Muslim Brotherhood with Salafi groups in Egypt and Tunisia, clashes between Salafi Jihadist movements with Saudi government, which is a major hub of Salafists and of course more than 30 thousand Salafi prisoners in this country proves that the tension within Arab world is not limited to religious confrontations based on which the crisis in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq are analyzed.

Although some experts and strategists believe that beyond these clashes, there are wider strategic clashes between the regional and international axes of power, among whom some are pursuing ways to end the occupation of Palestine from the Zionist regime, cutting the hands of the US from the region, regaining the regional resources, particularly strategic resources of energy from domination of the US and some other countries who pretend to be opposite but in fact they are allies of Washington, dominated by the White House and interested in compromising with the Zionist regime.

There is no doubt that political tensions and religious clashes are intermingled to a great extent. It is to the point that sometimes politics is a disguise at the service of religious war and sometimes religion is at the service of politics turning to a cover up for that.

It is as if Muslim world is going through the beginning years of “a centenary war of Shia and Sunni”, recently enunciated by Henry Kissinger, a former US Secretary of States, leaving the inauguration ceremony of the new Pope.

He also said,” We have done the work of a century during the past two years by sparking a religious war.”

Therefore, at the moment, either consciously or unconsciously, many regimes and people are busy in a religious war and perfectly serve in the army of Kissinger and his masters at the White House.

What complicates the whole situation is narrow-mindedness of some Muslim elites, scholars and media who (unfortunately) are forerunners of sectarian wars, provoking petrified thoughts, spreading hostility among Muslims and issuing fatwas for murder, assassination, demolition and homelessness, serving the interests of the US and the Zionist regime, rather than awakening and leading the masses, preventing the people to be trapped in ideological wars under the disguise of politics and political wars under the mask of religions.

However, the present disturbed situation, regarding the exhaustion of the world people from religious and political extremism, radical thoughts and measures by Salafi groups, is an opportunity for Muslim intellectuals and supporters of the Muslim world to convene, think and help survival of the utmost possible from intrigues before it is too late. They should prove that what Kissinger, his American and Zionist masters are pursuing is nothing but a pie in the sky which will nerve realize.
