Displaced Palestinians held first Ramadan Friday prayer on debris of mosque

On the first Friday of the fasting month of Ramadan, displaced Palestinians in Rafah, held the first Friday prayer in southern Gaza Strip city.
Palestinian worshipers held the communal Friday prayer besides the debris of a mosque in Rafah, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The Friday prayer was held besides the debris of al-Farouq Mosque, which has been completely shattered as a result of Israeli bombing.
 
Al-Farouq Mosque was one of the holy sites destroyed due to Israeli onslaughts the began on October 7.

 
A sign next at the site of the mosque reads that the place is temporarily used for congregational prayers.
 
More than one million Palestinians are seeking refuge in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah.
 
US, Egyptian and Qatari endeavored to reach ceasefire deal before the fasting month of Ramadan which began on Monday. The efforts have been to no avail so far.

 
Gaza Media center said 223 mosques have been totally destroyed and 289 others damaged in more than five months of Israel’s brutal onslaughts against the besieged territory.
 
Targeting mosques and churches remain another aspect of the Israeli atrocities against the Gaza Strip.
 
Israeli warplanes launched attacks against a number of mosques in the Gaza Strip, the most prominent of them was the historical landmark, al-Omari Mosque, which led to death of the civilians and material damage to the neighboring homes.
