“To support Muslims is a religious mission”

Oman’s Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs called the issue of Palestine a humanitarian issue stressing necessity of supporting the Palestinian nation when their rights are violated.

Mohammed bin Said bin Khalfan Al Mamari made the remarks in a meeting with Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, a senior Iranian cleric and Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He noted the constant support of the Omani nation for the Palestinians under Israeli atrocities and said since operation al-Aqsa Storm, the issue of Palestine and necessity of defending the Palestinian people have particularly been the topic for sermons and speeches by orators and prayer leaders in the Arab country.
 
The top official added that the Sultanate of Oman has set financial and political support for Palestine on its agenda.
 
The Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of Oman stressed that the human conscience should awaken in support of the Palestinians and any man with any religious belief should feel responsible towards Palestinians because what is happening in Palestine could happen in any other country.
 
Mohammed bin Said bin Khalfan Al Mamari counted rationality, justice and ethics as three common values that bring people from any religion together.
 
The grand mufti of Oman referred to cooperations, exchange of knowledge among religious scholars and maintaining tolerance for different beliefs as three steps to boost unity among Muslims.
 
He noted that having differences as part of human nature and added that the difficult part to be settled lies in maintaining cooperation despite disagreements.
 
The remarks by the senior Omani official were made in a meeting with an Iranian delegation of cultural and religious figures led by the Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought held in the Omani capital Muscat.
