Arafat Yasser Hamdan, 25, was detained on October 22 as part of the ongoing Israeli arrest campaigns in the West Bank.

Hamdan’s death is the second fatality among Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails in less than a week. Earlier Monday, Palestinian administrative detainee, Omar Hamza Hassan Daraghmeh, 58, died in Megiddo prison amid mysterious circumstances.

The Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Prisoners Society said in a joint statement that the Israeli occupation arrested Daraghmeh, along with his son Hamza, on October 9, and placed them under administrative detention for six months.

The statement pointed out that a court session was held for Daraghmeh earlier Monday via video conference in the Ofer Military Court, in the presence of his lawyer, Ashraf Abu Sneineh, who asked him about his health condition and he replied that he was in good health.

The Hamas Movement mourned Omar Daraghmeh, holding the Israeli occupation responsible for his death.

Several detainees who were recently detained confirmed that they were subjected to severe abuse and beatings.
